A total of six new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Sept. 12-16, 2011.
The following complaints were filed:
Jose and Graciela Alvarez of 4000 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Alvarezes will be represented by Danny R. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B190-907.
Alton and Michelle Babineaux of 4930 Highland Ave. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Babineauxes will be represented by Danny r. Scott Jr. of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D190-906.
Michelle Babineaux, doing business as Bab's Carpet, of 4940 Highland Ave. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Melvin Block of 2082 Primrose St. in Beaumont, 2042 Ives St. in Beaumont, 1930 Ives St. in Beaumont, 4055 Detroit Ave. in Beaumont and 5310 Bigner Rd. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association and Specialty Group minimized his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Sonia Canella of 3134 Tyler Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
