Two Beaumont residents allege they sustained multiple injuries after a trailer detached from a truck and struck their vehicle.

Theadies and Janet Parks filed a lawsuit Nov. 3 in Jefferson County District Court against Glenn and Dawn Windon.

In their complaint, the Parks allege they were traveling south on Spur 93 on Dec. 10, 2009, when a tractor detached from a truck being driven by Glenn Windon. The tractor crossed the roadway and slammed into the Parks' vehicle, according to the complaint.

Because of the collision, Theadies Parks suffered from headaches and severe neck, back, left leg, knee and ankle pain while Janet Parks suffered from severe pain to her neck, left shoulder, back and left leg, the suit states.

Both Janet and Theadies Parks incurred medical costs, lost their earnings and their earning capacity and experienced physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, the complaint says.

The Parks blame Glenn Windon for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to provide safety chains to attach the trailer to the truck.

They name Dawn Windon as a defendant, saying she insured the vehicle Glenn Windon drove at the time of the collision.

In their complaint, the Parks seek an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which they may be entitled.

Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont will be representing them.

Judge Gary Sanderson has been assigned to the case.
