Suit says wreck caused back, leg pain

A Port Arthur man claims he suffered severe back and leg pain after a driver struck his vehicle while attempting to turn.

Nakia Crockett filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in Jefferson County District Court against Juan Monroe Vidito and Miller Environmental Services.

In the complaint, Crockett alleges he rode in a vehicle traveling on Cardinal Drive Service Road in Beaumont on Dec. 23, 2009, when Vidito, who was driving for Miller Environmental Services, turned at the wrong moment and struck the vehicle in which Crockett rode.

Because of the collision, Crockett incurred medical costs; lost his earnings and his earning capacity; and suffered physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, the suit states.

Crockett seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
