Area resident Andrea Smith is suing Liberty County resident Genevieva Thompson for allegedly causing an automobile collision at a Beaumont intersection.
The suit was filed Dec. 14 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on July 5 Smith and Thompson were in an automobile collision at the intersection of MLK and Gladys Street.
The suit does not state how the collision occurred, nor does the suit list a specific act of negligence committed by Thompson.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and impairment.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
