Beaumont local Bernard Ferguson is suing Acme Truck Line and Charles Fontenot, an Acme truck driver who allegedly caused a collision with Ferguson.

The suit was filed Dec. 27 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 11 Ferguson was traveling west on I-10 in Beaumont when Fontenot, who was driving an 18-wheeler while in the employment of Acme, struck the back of his vehicle, causing both vehicles to hit a concrete barrier.

In his suit, Ferguson faults Fontenot for negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and blames Acme for negligently entrusting him.

The plaintiff is suing for his past and future mental anguish, lost wages, impairment and medical expenses, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents the plaintiff.
