GALVESTON - A contractor who was the target of an engineering firm's lawsuit recently received a judgment in his favor.
Galveston County Court at Law No. 3 Judge Christopher Dupuy signed an order Nov. 28 ruling that defendant Richard C. Bolin is entitled to said judgment and plaintiff Mustang Engineering is to take nothing from him.
Mustang sued Bolin last January in an effort to recoup approximately $16,000, alleging the latter continued to collect a salary and reimbursements despite his termination from a recent project.
According to the complainant, Bolin "had full knowledge that he did not have any right to the money paid to him."
"In collecting, accepting and retaining the funds, Mr. Bolin has breached his agreement with Mustang Engineering," court papers filed at the time assert.
"Further, he will be unjustly enriched if he is allowed to keep the funds."
The respondent provided a formal response to the allegations just three weeks after he was served with the suit.
He also entered a motion objecting to Mustang's requests for production of his financial records for the months of July, August and September 2010, accusing the plaintiff of harassment.
