Women claim speeding man struck their vehicle

Area residents Addison Daigle and Muadrey LeDay are suing Beaumont local Earl Howard, who allegedly was speeding and struck their vehicle two years ago.

The petition was filed Jan. 12 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 14, 2010, the plaintiffs were traveling east on Delaware Street in Beaumont when Howard, who was also traveling east on Delaware, "failed to control his speed and then violently and without warning struck plaintiffs' vehicle.

The suit also accuses Howard of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Dallas attorney Juan Zamora represents them.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
