Red light runners sued for causing collision

Beaumont local Dwayne Horace has filed suit against Torean Bob and Brandi Toran, also Beaumont residents, for running a red light and causing a collision.

The suit was filed Feb. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court records show that on Nov. 17 the defendants ran a red light at the intersection at Gulf Street and Interstate 10, colliding with a vehicle operated by Horace and injuring his head, neck and back.

The suit accuses the defendants of negligently failing to stop at a red light and keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
