Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County Courts

A total of three new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Feb. 13-17.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Guillermina Barriga of 3515 Seventh Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Jefferson County District Court case number: A191-956.

  • Kyle Massey of 3553 Second St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to his home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Massey will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E191-962.

  • Pedro Murillo of 2146 Evergreen Drive in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Murillo will be represented by Orlando R. Lopez of The Lopez law Firm in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: B191-958.
