Beaumont man sues Bridge City woman for causing collision

Beaumont local Michael Pete is suing Bridge City resident Brenda Byington for allegedly causing an automobile collision two years ago.

The petition was filed April 26 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, on May 1, 2010, Pete was operating his vehicle in a prudent manner when Byington caused the collision, injuring him.

The suit fails to state how or where the incident occurred, nor does the suit describe Pete's alleges injuries.

However, the suit does allege Byington negligently caused the collision by failing to keep a proper lookout and by failing to heed traffic control devices.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Brian Sutton represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
