Nederland residents Larry and Kathleen Delcambre have filed suit against Toyota Motor Sales, alleging they were sold a lemon.
The suit was filed April 25 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 18, 2010, the couple purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry manufactured and warranted by the defendant for $23,299.
Since that time, the plaintiffs claim the vehicle has experienced transmission problems, engine whining and knocking.
The defendant's ineffective repair attempts prompted the plaintiffs to make several requests for a refund, which have been denied, the suit states.
The plaintiffs allege the defendant violated the Deceptive Trade Practices Act by manufacturing and distributing a defective vehicle.
They are suing for more than $60,000 in damages, plus all court costs.
Frisco attorney Brad Riffe represents them.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
