Red-light runner sued for causing auto wreck

Orange resident Christopher Harvey is suing Beaumont local Cosme Sanchez-Hill for allegedly disregarding a red light and striking his vehicle.

The suit was filed May 1 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Oct. 1 Harvey was traveling north on MLK when Sanchez-Hill, who was traveling west on an I-10 service road, allegedly disregarded a red light and caused an automobile collision.

The suit faults Sanchez-Hill for negligently failing to stop at a red light, keep a proper lookout and yield the right of way.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
