Port Neches man sues women for rear-ending him

Newell

Port Neches resident Gary Burkett is suing Hillary Coy and Patricia Reyes for rear-ending his vehicle.

The suit was filed June 1 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, on Feb. 2, 2011, Burkett was traveling on Highway 365 when Reyes struck his rear bumper. Immediately thereafter, a second vehicle driven by Coy rear-ended Reyes, causing a second impact.

The suit accuses both defendants of negligently failing to control their speed and failing to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Eric Newell of Brent Coon & Associates represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. A192-519
