Latest lawsuits against insurance companies over storm damage claims filed in Jefferson County

A total of three new lawsuits have been filed against insurance companies filed in Jefferson County, Dec. 17-21, 2012. 

The following complaints have been filed:

• Jose Torres of 2410 Angelle Drive in Port Arthur alleges Fire Insurance Exchange and Sheli Wells denied his claim for roof and water damages caused to his property after a severe windstorm struck on March 20. Torres will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Shelly Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D193-725.

• Alvaro Valencia of 3301 Roanoke Ave. in Port Arthur alleges American Security Insurance Co. and William Trahan improperly adjusted his claim for fire and smoke damages caused to his property after a fire erupted on Aug. 15. Valencia will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Shelly Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: A193-727.

• Betty Wagstaff of 521 Gist Drive in Port Neches alleges State Farm Lloyds underpaid her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after a severe hail and windstorm struck on June 6, 2011. Wagstaff will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd Worrich and Joan M. Marron of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: A193-720.
