Jefferson County District Court Judge Bob Wortham presents a gift to Galveston County for allowing the capital murder trial of Bartholomew Granger to take place in Galveston courts. Granger was found guilty and sentenced to the death penalty for killing one woman and injuring three others in a shooting rampage at the Jefferson County Courthouse in March 2012. Because the courthouse was the crime scene, the venue for the trial was transferred to Galveston. Wortham gave the neighboring court a copy of the seal of the state of Texas made from Italian marble to be displayed in the Galveston County Justice Center.
