A lawsuit alleging a Savage Services Corp. employee caused an automobile collision has been filed against the company.
Joseph Sassau and Keysha Richard, as next of friend of Jordan Richard, filed suit against Savage Services and Jonathan McCreery on March 28 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 14 the plaintiffs were traveling eastbound on Highway 73 in Port Arthur. It was raining and a wreck had occurred.
As the plaintiffs slowed down, McCreery, who was in the course and scope of his employment with Savage Services driving a Mack truck, allegedly rear-ended their vehicle. McCreery was cited for failure to control speed, the suit states.
The suit further accuses McCreery of negligently failing to maintain a proper lookout.
The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages.
Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents them.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
