MARSHALL - A female employee has filed a lawsuit against a Longview business claiming that she was subjected to sexual advances from her supervisor that ultimately resulted in her resignation when she could no longer take the mental and physical abuse.

Erica Parker filed suit against iPacesetters LLC and TCIM Services Inc. on April 1 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

Parker was an employee of defendant’s Longview location. She claims that during her employment she was subjected to sexual advances from her supervisor/trainer.

According to the lawsuit, Parker was afraid to complain about the supervisor’s behavior to defendant because of the supervisor’s position of authority.

Parker resigned her position with the defendants on Dec. 23, 2011, claiming that she could no longer take the mental and physical abuse and the sexual advances made by the supervisor.

The defendants are accused of unlawful and systematic exclusion of and discrimination against Parker by failing to equalize conditions of employment, adopting unreasonable, unwarranted and arbitrary standards and conditions of employment and advancement, failing to promote Parker to a higher and better paying position in the same manner and at the same rate as comparably trained and qualified males, subjecting Parker to a sexually hostile working environment, subjecting Parker to sexual harassment, and committing acts of retaliation against Parker by  reason of her complaining of sexual harassment in the workplace.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of damages for back pay, front pay, interest, liquidated damages, mental distress, emotional pain, suffering, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, punitive damages, attorney’s fees and court costs.

Parker is represented by Tyler attorney William S. Hommel Jr. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap is assigned to the case.
