An agreed take nothing judgment has been entered in litigation brought by Port Arthur resident Darlene Goudeaux, who sued the city alleging a sewage backup damaged her home.
As previously reported, the suit was filed June 28, 2012, in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show that judgment was entered on April 26, stating that the parties agreed that all matters in dispute have been compromised and settled.
The lawsuit alleged that on April 14, 2012, Goudeaux suffered extensive damage to her Port Arthur home when raw sewage flooded her floors. She notified the city of the back up and two city employees came to her residence the following day.
Allegedly, the men told her the problem was due to the city’s sanitation line.
The suit faulted the city for negligently failing to inspect and maintain its sanitation line.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, presided over the case.
