Woman sues to collect $225K settlement

Pamela Fabriguze is suing Chartis Property Casualty, alleging the company breached its contract by not paying her $225,000 owed from a settlement agreement.

The suit was filed June 19 in Jefferson County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 29 the parties entered into a written contract, providing that the defendant pay the plaintiff $225,000 for the settlement of a lawsuit between the two parties.

“Defendant has breached the contract by failing to pay monies due to plaintiff,” the suit states.

The plaintiff is suing for actual and additional damages, plus attorney’s fees and court costs.

Nederland attorney Stephen Taggart represents her.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
