Coburn Supply sues to recover $260K debt

Seeking to collect on a debt of more then $268,000, Coburn Supply Co. has filed suit against Ken Burke, doing business as K&S Plumbing.

The suit was filed July 1 in Jefferson County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, Coburn sold merchandise and supplies to Burke. Burke accepted and became bound to pay.

“After all just and lawful offsets, credits and payments have been applied, there is a principal balance due and owing to plaintiff from customer in the amount of … $268,818.01, and though often requested, customer has failed and refused … to pay such amount,” the suit states.

The plaintiff is suing for the amount owed, interests and court costs and attorney’s fees.

Beaumont attorney Bill Richey of Griffin & Matthews represents the plaintiff.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
