GALVESTON - Santa Fe local Jeremy McCollum has filed a $1 million lawsuit against Pro Plumbing & Construction in response to alleged damages to his property.
According to court papers filed July 18 in Galveston County District Court, McCollum hired the business to perform repairs, but the latter's work "was a disaster."
PPC's proprietors, Michael Bearden and Brad Montgomery, are also defendants in the case.
The suit shows the plaintiff hired the respondents on or around July 13, 2012.
McCollum alleges that the defendants caused "serious" damage to his property on Sept. 10, 2012, when they drove a tractor onto the premises.
He adds he paid them to purchase materials and provide plumbing blocks only to not receive the items.
In addition, they damaged McCollum's floor by drilling a hole into the floor of the residence as well as refused to repair or pay to repair said hole, the original petition says.
The complainant ultimately states that "much of the piping and plumbing constructed and installed by the defendants does not work correctly."
"Despite having paid thousands of dollars to the defendants, the plaintiff's home will require a substantial amount of work and money to be fixed," the suit says.
A jury trial is requested.
Attorney Christopher J. Leavitt of The Buzbee Law Firm is representing the complainant, and Galveston County 212th District Court Judge Susan Criss is presiding over the case.
