Orange County resident Regina Morphew is suing P.A.M. Cartage Carriers for injuries she suffered in an automobile collision caused by one of its employees.

The suit was filed July 16 in Jefferson County District Court and also names Abiyu Ahmed and P.A.M. Transport as defendants.

According to the lawsuit, on May 13 the plaintiff was traveling east on Interstate 10 when Ahmed, who was in the course and scope of his employment with P.A.M. and driving a truck owned by the company, struck her.

The suit accuses Ahmed of negligently failing to control his rate of speed and failing to keep a proper lookout.

P.A.M. is accused of negligently failing to train him and entrusting a truck to him.

On top of exemplary damages, the plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents her.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
