Orange County resident Crystal Haynes has filed a notice of non-suit in her case against the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, which alleges she suffered a stroke while in medical center’s care more than two years ago.

As previously reported, the suit was filed April 26 in Jefferson County District Court and also names Dr. Roy Marrero Jr. as a defendant.

Court records show that on Aug. 16 Haynes filed a notice of non-suit as to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas without prejudice.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 18, 2011, Haynes was under the care of the medical defendants. During her treatment, she suffered a stroke.

No more details are given, but the suit does, however, allege the defendants negligently failed to properly diagnose the plaintiff and follow proper stroke protocol.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and impairment.

Attorney Hart Green of the Beaumont law firm Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell represents the plaintiff.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
