A motion for continuance has been granted in Saige Richardson’s suit against Cash’s Bar and Grill, which alleges she was injured while on the restaurant’s premises.
As previously reported, the suit was filed Aug. 31, 2011, in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show the case was slated on the court’s September trial docket.
On Aug. 7, Richardson filed a motion for continuance, stating that that discovery was not complete and that the case may be mediated in the near future.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, granted the motion on Aug. 22, placing the case on his February 2014 try or dismiss docket, court records show.
The lawsuit alleges that on Jan. 24, 2010, Richardson was a patron at the Cash’s at Central Mall Drive in Port Arthur when she was injured.
However, the suit does not state how she was injured, nor does the suit list a specific act of negligence.
Richardson is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
