Woman stepping back trips over uneven floor, sues

While shopping at shopping at a Silsbee business, Pennie Anderson claims she stepped back and tripped over uneven floor.

On Sept. 13 Anderson filed suit against SL Parker Partnership Ltd., doing business as Parker Lumber, in Jefferson County District Court, alleging the company failed to eliminate the risk for patrons. 

According to the lawsuit, on April 22 Anderson was shopping at the defendant’s premises. While inspecting building material to purchase, Anderson stepped back and tripped and fell over an unleveled floor, breaking her left arm.

Thee suit accuses the defendant of negligently failing to inspect and maintain its premises.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and impairment.

Beaumont attorney Trenton Bond of Portner Bond represents her.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
