Following a brief trial, no damages were awarded to a Hardin County woman claiming she incurred medical costs after a driver rear-ended her vehicle as she sat at a stop light.
As previously reported, Patsy Lockhart filed a lawsuit June 25, 2012, in Jefferson County District Court against Kelli Broussard, Cheryse Renee Broussard and John Christopher Bagley.
According to the jury verdict, filed Sept. 19, jurors found Broussard the negligent party in causing the collision.
Lockhart alleges she stopped at a stop signal while driving on Highway 96 North on July 1, 2011, when Kelli Broussard struck the back of her vehicle.
Because of the collision, Lockhart incurred medical costs; lost her earnings; and incurred physical pain, mental anguish and physical impairment, according to the complaint.
However, no damages were awarded, according to the charge of the court.
Paul F. Ferguson Jr. of Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont represents the plaintiff.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, presided over the trial.
