A driver is suing after he is rear ended on Interstate 10.

Tony Lapoint filed a lawsuit Oct. 4 in the District Court of Jefferson County 172nd Judicial District against Gary Fontenot, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on April 26, Lapoint and Fontenot were traveling northbound in the 1200 block of Interstate 10. Lapoint says he started to slow down as traffic in front of him was slowing and Fontenot failed to slow down, rear ending Lapoint's vehicle.

Lapoint is seeking damages in an amount more than $200,000, but not more than $1,000,000. He is being represented in the case by attorney John J. Brothers.
