A Jefferson County credit union has filed an order for foreclosure on a property in the city of Beaumont.

Fivepoint Federal Credit Union filed a lawsuit on Jan. 16 in the Jefferson County District Court against Floyd Dixon and Carol Deering Dixon of 4285 Pierre Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77705, citing failure to pay loan.

The plaintiff alleges in the suit that on Jan. 17, 2008, they entered into an agreement with Dixon to provide a loan on a property Dixon wanted to purchase.

The defendant failed to pay the amount due on the loan, according to the suit. As of July 2 the defendant owes $88,776.34 plus attorney fees and court costs, the suit states.

Five Point is seeking foreclosure on the property and other relief agreed on by the court.

The credit union is being represented in the case by Jefferson County attorney James W. King of Offerman & King LLP.

The case has been assigned to District Court Judge Milton Shuffield.
