Beaumont business sued after refusing to pay electrical company for materials purchased

A Harris County electrical company is suing a business and insurance company after they refused to pay for supplies purchased.


Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. filed a lawsuit Feb. 11 in the Jefferson County District Court against Allco LLC, Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America and Travelers Casualty and Surety Company, citing breach of contract and violation Public Prompt Pay Act. 

The plaintiff alleges on May 25, 2007, they entered into an agreement to provide electrical materials to Allco for the construction of the Sabine Pass ISD Education Center project in Jefferson County.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff furnished materials for the project from July through October 2013, the total sum for these materials was $117,302.88, which they have not paid. The defendant now has an outstanding balance of $167,975.92, which includes interest, the suit states.

Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. is seeking damages in the amount of $167,975.92, interest, attorney's fees and court costs.

The company is being represented in the case by Houston attorney W. Jason Walker of Andrews Myers P.C.
