Jefferson County restaurant sued for not paying rent

A Jefferson County company is suing a restaurant, claiming they have not received rent owed.


Megas Enterprises Inc., based in Nederland, filed a lawsuit March 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against Spring Roll Express LLC, a restaurant located on U.S. 69 in Nederland, citing breach of lease.

The plaintiff alleges in the suit they leased a property to the defendant requiring in the contract for the defendant to make monthly payments of $2,236.14.

According to the claim, the defendant discontinued payment on the loan in August, owing a total of $38,014.38.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional minimum, attorney's fees, interest and court costs.

They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney Mark L. Mitchell of Law Offices of Mark L. Mitchell.
