Universal Field Services sued over gender discrimination

An Angelina County woman is suing over claims she was sexually harassed at work and fired for reporting it.

Stephanie Hector filed a lawsuit March 28 in the Lufkin Division of the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Universal Field Services Inc. and Clayton Nichols, citing gender discrimination.

According to the complaint, on April 18, Hector was fired from her position as receptionist at Universal Field Services, where she alleges she had been the victim of sexual harassment by coworker Nichols. Hector alleges the termination of her employment was in retaliation for her denying and reporting sexual advances.

Hector is seeking damages, back pay and reinstatement or front pay.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Alex A. Castetter of Stuckey, Garrigan & Castetter in Nacogdoches.
