Galveston County woman named in claim, accused of reckless driving

Rearend crash

A Harris County woman is suing over claims she was injured during a car accident.

Kimberly Douglas filed suit April 4 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Mollie Elizabeth Ballard, Mitchell Ballard and Alma Ballard, citing negligence.

Douglas claims defendant Mollie Elizabeth Ballard was not driving safely on State Highway 146 in Galveston County and caused a car accident with Douglas on May 22, 2012.

The suit alleges Mollie Elizabeth Ballard was not paying attention to the traffic around her, which was doubly dangerous as she was driving through an active construction zone with heavy traffic.

According to the brief, Mollie Elizabeth Ballard was driving a vehicle owned by Mitchell and Alma Ballard when she rear ended Douglas's vehicle, causing Douglas injuries.

Douglas is seeking damages, interest, court costs and all other relief the court deems proper.

She is being represented in the case by Houston attorneys Richard J. Presutti and Shelly Singh of Law Office of Richard J. Presutti.
