Apffel darrell

A Galveston County resident is sued after allegedly running a red light and striking another vehicle.

Edward A. Janek filed a lawsuit April 8 in the Galveston County Court against Joe Gonzales Jr., citing negligence.

The complaint states Janek was driving east in the 2900 block of Avenue P on June 5, 2012, when Gonzales allegedly disregarded the red light and struck the plaintiff, causing injuries and damages.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant acted negligently, including failing to control his speed, failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to safely operate his vehicle.

Janek is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Darrell A. Apffel and S. Benjamin Shabot of Bettison, Doyle, Apffel and Guarino PC.
