Beaumont couple files restraining order to prevent eviction

Russell sean

A Beaumont couple is filing for a temporary restraining order to prevent their eviction.

David Pete and Cecil Pete filed a temporary restraining order April 22 in the Jefferson County District Court against Alan Cramer Investments Inc.

The Petes claim they participated in a loan modification program through Making Homes Affordable on their home on Corley Street in Beaumont.

The suit alleges the Petes tendered their mortgage payment to Making Homes Affordable under the impression the program would relay the monies to the defendant. According to the brief, Making Homes Affordable was retaining the funds for themselves, resulting in the home being foreclosed on.

The Petes are seeking a restraining order to prohibit evicting them from their home.

They are being represented in the case by Beaumont attorney Sean M. Russell of The Mostyn Law Firm.
