Todd jeffrey

A Galveston County woman is suing over claims she was unfairly fired from her job with an oil company.

Jennifer Parker filed a lawsuit May 30 in the Galveston County District Court against Murphy Oil U.S.A. Inc., citing workers' compensation retaliation.

According to the complaint, Parker was an employee of Murphy Oil U.S.A. and was injured on the job Aug. 19, 2012. She claims she was subsequently fired in August 2013, allegedly for not following the rules.

However Parker claims her termination was in retaliation of her filing of a workers' compensation claim.

Parker is seeking more than $200,000 in damages and loss of earnings.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Jeffrey N. Todd of The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd.
