An Odessa man is suing an oilfield products supplier over claims of unpaid overtime wages.

Phillip Anderson, individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a civil action complaint Aug. 19 in Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against S.M.C. Inc., alleging unpaid overtime compensation in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint alleges that during the time Anderson was employed by the defendant as an in-house salesperson, he was paid a salary for normal work hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and every other Saturday.

According to the complaint, Anderson and others in the collective were also required to take calls after-hours and regularly had to return to the workplace to allow after-hours customers to pick up purchased equipment, but were not paid time-and-a-half overtime compensation.

Anderson and others in the action seek to recover unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages and costs of the suit.

He is represented by Greg S. Gober of Blaies & Hightower, L.L.P. in Fort Worth.
