GALVESTON -- A Louisiana man is suing a Houston oil operations business, alleging negligence for injuries he says he sustained while working on an oil rig.

Charles A. Patterson filed a lawsuit Sept. 18 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Eni US Operating Co. Inc.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 2014, 2014, Patterson was working as a rigger on an offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico, owned and operated by the defendant. His work required manual lifting of equipment but he was not given proper equipment or assistance, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges this caused him to suffer severe and permanent injuries to his body, plus pain and suffering and loss of income.

Patterson seeks damages and a trial by jury. He is represented by attorney Marcus R. Spagnoletti of Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston.
