A Harris County woman is suing a Galveston County oil company and one of its drivers, alleging negligence for injuries she sustained in a vehicle collision.

Bonnie Donaldson filed a complaint Sept. 24 in Galveston County District Court against Mark Harrold of Dickinson and Bay Oil Company, also of Dickinson, alleging negligence.

On Oct. 5, 2014, the complaint states, Donaldson was driving on the Gulf Freeway when Harrold, while under the employment of Bay Oil Company and driving one of its 18-wheelers, rear-ended her vehicle.

The suit says the defendants were negligent in failing to drive attentively, failing to control speed, failing to maintain proper lookout, following too closely, speeding, failing to observe and follow traffic laws and failing to keep the vehicle under proper control.

The complaint alleges Bay Oil Company was specifically negligent in entrusting a vehicle to Harrold and failing to properly screen, train, supervise and control Harrold.

As a result, the lawsuit states, the plaintiff sustained injuries that have required multiple surgeries and medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, pain and suffering, impairment and disfigurement, and mental anguish.

Donaldson seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney R. Keith Weber, Jr. of Weber Law Firm in Houston.

Galveston County District Court case number 15-cv-1028.
