A Tyler man is suing a logistics company, alleging negligence for injuries he says he sustained in a vehicle collision involving one of the company's employees.

Robert Crawford filed a lawsuit Nov. 3 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against HN Logistics, alleging negligence, gross negligence, and negligent entrustment, hiring, retention, and control.

On March 3, 2014, the suit states, Crawford was driving in Tyler when Manjit Singh, driving a vehicle owned or leased by HN Logistics and in the scope of his employment with the defendant, failed to control his speed and caused a multiple-vehicle collision. The suit alleges the defendant, through Singh, was negligent in failing to maintain a proper lookout, speeding, failing to maintain a safe distance, entrusting a vehicle to a careless or reckless driver and other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result, the lawsuit states, Crawford sustained severe and disabling injuries, pain and mental anguish, loss of earnings and earning capacity, impairment and disfigurement, and medical expenses.

Crawford seeks actual, punitive and exemplary damages, plus attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney Luke F. Bickham of Tyler.
