Louisiana worker alleges Toledo Mudlogging failed to pay proper wages

A Louisiana gas well worker is suing a mud logging services company, alleging unpaid minimum and overtime wages.

Charles Settle filed a lawsuit Nov. 18 in the Lufkin Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Toledo Mudlogging Services, alleging unpaid minimum and overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The suit states during the time Settle worked for Toledo as a "sample catcher" and general laborer at its oil and gas well sites in Texas and New Mexico, from November 2013 to July 2014, he regularly worked more than 40 hours per week. The suit alleges Mudlogging failed to pay Settle both minimum wages for all hours worked and an overtime premium for time worked more than 40 hours per week.

Settle seeks to recover unpaid minimum and overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees, interests, litigation costs and court costs. He is represented by attorney Douglas B. Welmaker of Dunham & Jones in Austin.
