Autoaccident

BEAUMONT— A woman is suing a Nederland couple for allegedly causing a car accident resulting in injuries to her.

Antonya Hernandez filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the Jefferson County District Court against Brandy Lynn Arciva and Robert Arciva, alleging that the defendants were negligent in the operation of their vehicle.

Hernandez was driving eastbound on Highway 69 on March 27, 2014, when Arciva's vehicle allegedly collided with her car. She alleged in the suit that the collision injured her back, neck and shoulders.

The plaintiff alleged that the defendants were negligent in failing to maintain proper control, speed and awareness; and failing to apply their vehicle's brakes in a timely manner.

Hernandez is seeking damages for all medical bills, past and future; mental anguish and physical pain; and legal fees. She is represented by James E. Payne of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
