GALVESTON — A couple is suing a Dickinson home builder, alleging construction of their home was not completed in a good and workmanlike manner.

John Brandon Clearly and Nicole M. Clearly filed a lawsuit Jan. 14 in Galveston County District Court against Lankford Custom Homes Ltd Company and Nick Lankford, alleging negligence and deceptive trade practices.

According to the complaint, the Clearlys contracted Lankford the construction company to build their home in Galveston County, which included labor, materials and all equipment and supervision of the task. However, despite the warranty and agreement from the construction company to do so, the suit states, the defendant failed to fulfill its guarantee.

The lawsuit states the damage was more than $100,000.

The Clearlys seek compensation for all damages and court costs, up to $100,000. They are represented by attorneys Andrew P. McCormick and Laurie A. Munoz of McCormick, Lanza & McNeel LLP in Bellaire.
