Jefferson County motorist seeks damages from auto accident

BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County man is suing a Beaumont motorist, alleging negligence in an auto accident. 

Marvin Patrick filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the Jefferson County District Court against Daryl James Frazier of Beaumont, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on March 13, 2015, Patrick was driving south on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Beaumont when was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Frazier. The force of the collision resulted in the plaintiff suffering injuries to his back, neck and body, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently failed to operate his vehicle in a safe manner, failed to keep a lookout or control the speed of his vehicle.

Patrick seeks a jury trial and damages between $200,000 and $1 million for physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, physical impairment and legal fees. He is represented by attorneys Christine L. Stetson and Cade Bernsen of Bernsen Law Firm in Beaumont.
