GALVESTON - A Hidalgo man is suing a transportation company, alleging negligence that he says caused him to be run over by a tractor-trailer.

Robert Phillips filed a lawsuit Dec. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Lone Star Transportation LLC and Jimmy Maddox of La Marque, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 31, Phillips was injured when he was run over while working as a steering truck operator assisting in the movement of an oversized tractor-trailer owned and operated by Lone Star Transportation. The suit says the accident occurred when the plaintiff radioed Maddox that he was going to fix the tail lights on the trailer, but Maddox responded negligently and ran over the plaintiff six times by the axles of the trailer.

The plaintiff alleges he has suffered greatly, both physically and financially, from the accident and will continue to suffer in the future.

Phillips seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, costs of court, pre and post-judgment and a trial by jury. He is represented by attorneys Sean Patrick Tracey, Shawn P. Fox, Scott C. Greenlee and Lance Nolan Walters of Tracey & Fox Law Firm in Houston.
