Couple sues Brand Energy, others over alleged sexual assault of wife

A Harris County couple has sued three companies in response to an alleged sexual assault in 2014, according to recent Galveston County court records.

In a lawsuit filed Mar. 9 against Brand Energy & Infrastructure Holdings, Inc.; HSG Constructors, LLC; and Industrial Specialists, LLC, plaintiffs Marcela Sosa Flores and Jesus Silva explain that Marcela was the victim in the event in question which occurred on Aug. 17, 2014 while Jesus was performing contract work for the defendants in Wever, Greenbay Township, Iowa.

The couple says a man named Cristian Martell “forced his way into the plaintiffs’ camper, which purportedly belonged to the respondents, while plaintiff Silva was away on work” and proceeded to physically assault and sexually abuse Flores.

“Martell then threatened plaintiff Flores to not tell anybody,” the original petition says.

“Some days later, unable to bear the abuse she suffered, plaintiff Flores told her husband, plaintiff Silva, about the incident.”

Authorities charged Martell, who is also a defendant in the case, with assault a few days later.

The suit faults the companies for inadequate security, stating that no security officer was provided to patrol the premises.

Consequently, the plaintiffs seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by attorneys Piero Garcia and Carlos A. Leon of The Leon Law Firm, P.C. in Sugar Land.
