Employee accuses Conroe business of racial discrimination

HOUSTON — A Montgomery County man is suing a Conroe business, alleging racial discrimination led to his dismissal.

Lionel E. Ford filed a lawsuit Dec. 14 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against MGM Northstar LLC, alleging discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, Ford experienced racial discrimination during his employment, which resulted in his termination. The plaintiff alleges Northstar made racial comments against him and created a hostile work environment.

Ford seeks compensation for all damages, back pay, loss of wages and benefits, plus interest, all legal fees, a jury trial and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented by attorney M. Kevin Powers of Porter & Powers PLLC in Houston.
