Former Sitco Enterprises employee alleges she was not paid overtime

Law money 06

HOUSTON – A sewing machine operator has filed a class-action suit against her former employer over allegations that she and the class members are owed unpaid overtime wages.

Blanca Alvarez filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on March 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Sitco Enterprises LLC, doing business as Summit Work Apparel, and Mehriar Kaviani Espili, also known as Mark Kaviani alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between November 2010 and July 24, 2015, she worked for more than 40 hours per work week during her employment but did not receive any pay for those extra hours. The plaintiff holds Sitco Enterprises LLC and Mehriar Kaviani Espili responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums to their employees for hours worked over 40 hours.

The plaintiff seeks the following: a trial by jury, all damages, unpaid overtime wages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu in Houston.
