HOUSTON — A former employee is suing a Houston dentist, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Gloria Lydia Arellano of Katy, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a lawsuit March 28, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Dr. Vladamir Tabakman PC doing business as Bellaire Family Orthodontics, alleging it failed to properly compensate employees by paying overtime.

According to the complaint, between Aug. 17, 2014 and Feb. 22, 2016, Arellano worked for more than 40 hours per week and was sometime required to work "off the clock" but did not receive any overtime pay for all those extra hours worked. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay overtime wages to the plaintiff for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per work week.

Arellano seeks trial by jury, payment for unpaid overtime wages, damages for unlawful retaliation, all damages including interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Taft L. Foley II of The Foley Law Firm in Houston.
