HOUSTON — A former employee is suing a Dallas company, alleging racial discrimination and wrongful termination.

Joy Mathew of Fort Bend County filed a lawsuit April 1, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Austin Industrial Services, LP alleging the defendant discriminated against him because of race.

According to the complaint, Mathew experienced discrimination during his employment. The suit says Austin Industrial harassed the plaintiff because of his Asian Indian race and national origin, and clearly treated him differently with regard to job-related issues such as time off, work load, assignments, evaluation and discipline.

Mathew seeks trial by jury, back pay, front pay, all damages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Alexander Defreitas of Houston.
