HOUSTON — A former employee from Pasadena is suing a Houston company, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation laws.

Abel Vargas filed a lawsuit April 13, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Centerline Underground Services LLC and Dave Massey, alleging they did not pay overtime wages.

According to the complaint, between Feb. 15, 2016 and March 30, 2016, Vargas worked for more than 40 hours per week as an operator but did not receive overtime wages. The plaintiff alleges Centerline Underground and Massey failed to pay overtime to the plaintiff at the rate according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Vargas seeks trial by jury, the unpaid minimum wage, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Thomas H. Padgett Jr., Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Bellaire.
